  • What is Sugaring?
Boho Beauty Co uses a loose paste, strip-free, hand sugaring method. A mixture of lemon, sugar, and water is used to remove hair from the face and body. Sugaring is gentle enough for the thinnest most sensitive skin and strong enough for the thickest, most stubborn hairs.
  • How does Sugaring work?
Sugar paste is a water soluble product and can be cleaned up with a simple hot towel adhering only to hair, dead and dry skin cells for a more gentle exfoliation and less pain. It cannot burn the skin and is applied against the hair growth and removed in its natural direction reducing breakage.
  • How Long Does My Hair Need to Be?
Hair should be at least 1/8th of an inch about the size of a grain of rice, or approximately 2 weeks growth after a shave so the sugar can grip on to it.
  • How do I Prepare for my Appointment?
Maintain hair at least 1/8th of an inch (about the size of a grain of rice, or approximately 2 weeks growth after a shave) so the sugar can grip on to it. You may scrub/exfoliate legs 24hrs before you arrive.
  • Day of Your Appointment
Clean and dry your skin. No lotions or oils on treatment areas.
  • What Should I Wear to my Appointment?
Clean, comfortable and loose fitting clothing you don't mid getting oils on. Feel free to bring your bathing suit so we can sugar your hair to match. You can also bring fresh clean clothes.
  • How Long do I have to Wait before having Sex, Going to the Pool, Hot Tub, Exercising or Going to the the Beach?
A good rule of thumb would be to wait 24 hours before any strenuous activities. After sugaring, your pores and hair follicles are open, making them more susceptible to irritation and bacteria. BUT you know your body best!
  • What if I have my Period?
No worries! If you're comfortable, I'm comfortable with it! We can still go ahead with your appointment as scheduled.
  • What should I do after my Appointment?
Be aware that after your service your skin will be more photosensitive (sensitive to the sun) and susceptible to irritation. Most client see no negative after-affects, but some do experience histamine reaction the day after removing the hair. If this happens, please feel free to reach out. Sugaring regularly will reduce pain over time and traumatize those follicles, reducing their growth strength. -Keep your skin moisturized -Avoid exfoliation for 2-5 days after sugaring -Rebook your service every 4-6 weeks
